
Day 1 - Leave Atlanta
As we depart the USA for Israel, our hearts are full of excitement
and expectation. Hallelujah!
Day 2 - Arrive in Israel
After clearing passport control and customs, we meet our
guide and driver. We start our touring program at Caesarea
Maritime and the Roman Aqueduct. We continue north to the
Carmel Mountain and visit Muhraka. Our last visit today is in
Megiddo. We arrive at our hotel on the shores of the Sea of
Galilee. Dinner and overnight Kibbutz Ein Gev.
Day 3 -
Today's program requires an early start! We climb up the
Golan from its south entrance and stop at the Sea of Galilee
overlook. We continue to Mountain Bunker; visit army base (if
available), Gamla, Caesarea Philippi, Tel Dan and Tel Hai. Dinner and overnight at Ein Gev Kibbutz on the
shores of the Sea of Galilee.
Day 4 -
This morning, after breakfast, we depart for the
Nazareth-Synagogue church. We drive up to Mount Precipice
(here they tried to throw Jesus down), Cana, and Sepphoris. We
end the day at the Baptism site in Jordan River.
Dinner and overnight at Ein Gev.
Day 5 -
Today is dedicated to sites around the Sea of Galilee! We
visit Kursi, Church of Beatitudes, Tabgha, and Capernaum. We
end the day with a boat ride on the sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight at Ein Gev Kibbutz.
Day 6 -
This morning after breakfast, we depart the Galilee region
and drive through the Jordan Valley to the Dead Sea. On the
way we stop at Mt. Tabor, Beit Shean, Qumran (site of the
founding of the Dead Sea Scrolls), and the Tabernacle in the Wilderness
in Kibbutz Almog, before checking
into our Dead Sea Hotel and Spa. After dinner, enjoy an evening
swim in the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight: Dead Sea.
Day 7 -
After breakfast, we will start the day with a short hike at
the Ein Gedi oasis. We then take a cable car ride up to Masada.
We climb down through the ramp that the Romans built. Next we will visit En Gedi, site of where David hid from Saul
and penned his beautiful Psalms. We continue for a Bedouin
Hafla (feast) and Camel Ride. Dinner and overnight: Dead
Sea.
Day 8 - Jerusalem!!!!
Today, after breakfast, with an early start, we ascend the
Judean Desert Mountains to Jerusalem. We begin our touring of
Jerusalem at Ammunition Hill, the site of one of the bloodiest
battles to free Jerusalem in the 1967 war. On to Yad Vashem,
the Memorial to the Holocaust. After, we travel to the giant
Menorah and visit the Israel museum to view a model of
Jerusalem in second temple period Jerusalem. After dinner we
have a night visit to the Western Wall. Dinner and overnight
in, Prima Kings Hotel, Jerusalem.
Day 9 -
Today is dedicated to the Old City!
We visit Bethesda, Church of St. Anne, Antonia Fortress,
Church of Holy Sepulcher, Ophel excavations - movie and
museum. We end the day with a tree planting, a mitzvah (Deed)
that all pilgrimages are required to fulfill. Dinner and overnight
in, Prima Kings Hotel, Jerusalem.
Day 10 -
This morning after breakfast, we drive to Mount Olives for a
panoramic view of the entire city of Jerusalem and have a
group picture with the city in the background. At the bottom
of the mountain is the
Garden of Gethsemane and Church of All Nations. We then
drive to Gihon Spring and after we visit the House of Caiphus.
Nearby is Mount Zion, where we visit the
Upper room. We end our day
with our private Communion at the Garden Tomb. Dinner and overnight
in, Prima Kings Hotel, Jerusalem.
Day 11-
We start the day outside the city with a visit to Mini
Israel and to Latrun, the museum of the Israeli Armored Corps.
We return to the city and enjoy a special ride on the Time
elevator. Returning to the Old City, we visit the "Burt
House," the remains of a house that belongs to a noble family
in Biblical times. We end the day with a walk on the Ramparts
in the Old City. Dinner and Overnight: Jerusalem.
Day 12 -
This is a free day to enjoy on your own. You may wish to
visit museums, shop (until you drop!), explore the Old City,
or spend some quiet time in places you have previously
enjoyed. Return to the hotel for our farewell dinner, where
you will be able to share with those on the tour the special
memories and insights you have received during our time
together.
Day 12 (evening) -
We bid farewell to Jerusalem, "the Apple
of God's eye," and we depart for Ben Gurion airport.
We board our plane full of many wonderful memories of
Israel, God's chosen Land for His Chosen people.
Day 13 -
